Heading out west! YeeHaw!

This is something we did a few months back with some friends!

We have been reading the Little House books and used the Prairie Primer book this year for fun ideas to go along with them!

One of the suggestions is to measure out an area and have it be your covered wagon...

I flipped our dinning room table upside down and turned it into a covered wagon!!
The kids had a blast packing the wagon and pretending they were heading out west!
Of course we had corn bread and beans to eat too!

Hello Kitty Party!!

I am sorry it has been SOOO long since I have posted anything!!
I AM PREGNANT!!

Well I'm now feeling much better (a first for me!!)
and this week is my middle daughter's 6th birthday!

She LOVES Hello Kitty!!
Right now her favorite color is red so I'm writing in red!!

Of course we had to have a Hello Kitty Birthday Party!!

Being Prego I opted to have the party at Michaels. It's only $50 to use their party room!

They will run the craft for you if you choose one of their crafts...I did my own.

I had coloring pages for them to do while we waited for everyone to arrive!

Then we made Hello Kitty Masks!

I had cut them out of craft foam and got 4 masks from each sheet!
I cut bows from craft foam that was sparkly and had a sticker back, noses from yellow felt, and the whiskers are just pipe cleaners.

I had them use tacky glue for the noses and the pipe cleaners poked through the foam.

They came out pretty cute if I do say so!

Next we played pin the bow on Hello Kitty!
For this I just drew a pic of Hello Kitty on foam board.
You could print one off if you don't feel confident but Hello Kitty is pretty simple to copy.
I used the same sticky, sparkly foam sheets for the bows!

Then we did face painting!! Always fun!
Michaels will do it for you (for $25extra) I helped out to get it done faster.

One of my daughter's friends wanted a white cat with red stripes...umm OK....I did my best. ;)

I had them decorate their own cupcakes!!

They had so much fun doing this!

I tied the bags so the frosting only came out the right way!

I will end with a kid party tip!

Have your child write thank you notes before the party and put them in the goody bags!
"Thank you for coming to my party and for the gift!"
(I printed it off and she glued it into the card then wrote her name and drew a picture.)
Then you don't have to worry about who gave what and mailing thank you cards after!
